Development versions are released every time a developer makes a change to Dolphin, several times every day! Using development versions enables you to use the latest and greatest improvements to the project. They are however less tested than beta versions of the emulator.

Four different difficulty settings are available when playing this game: easy, regular, challenging, and black ops. Only the primary goal must be completed in the access mode, and meeting several optional side quests in the standard and complex difficulties would be best. All objectives must be accomplished in the Black Ops mode, which can be accessed after beating the game on the hardest difficulty setting. After you have completed a level, you will be able to unlock new weaponry.
PCSX2 was the first PlayStation 2 emulator. Through persistent development, it has remained the best one around! It's capable of playing most titles without any major glitches. It conveniently comes equipped with its own plug-ins, which can be customized. PCSX2 requires a fast computer in order to run well. You might have trouble with it if you're using a budget laptop or a Windows tablet.
With other emulators, you can get away with using your keyboard for gameplay. However, with PCSX2 it's pretty difficult, given the PlayStation 2 controller's mini joysticks. I strongly recommend purchasing a gamepad for this emulator.

Installation is simple: just extract PCSX2 from its zip file. To make things clearer, check out the video below that shows how to 'install' a portable emulator (it shows Snes9x, but PCSX2 is the same process). It's pretty straight-forward - all that you're doing is extracting a zip file while doing a little bit of folder management. If you want to 'uninstall' a portable emulator, simply delete it!
Note: I do not recommend playing your games via your DVD-ROM drive. PCSX2 is a rather demanding emulator on your CPU. Running the game from your DVD-ROM drive will slow it down and lower its performance. Rather, I recommend ripping your game to an ISO. I have directions for that towards the bottom of this guide.
If it's not fixed, perhaps try Software as the renderer. If that doesn't fix it, I'm afraid PCSX2 may not be compatible with your device. However, if the black screen is the result of the game crashing (you don't hear audio), that's a different issue. Try black screen troubleshooting.
These ISO formats are exclusive to specific burning software. Google around to find what program is associated with that format. Once found, install it and burn the game to a DVD. However, if you want my opinion, I say just forget about it. You should try to download the game from somewhere else to get it in ISO or BIN format. Working with these proprietary ISO formats is too much trouble.
Perhaps you prefer using your own PlayStation 2 games instead of downloading them from the Internet? Or maybe you just want to keep backup copies of your PlayStation 2 games? Whatever the case, here's how you can dump your games:
The easiest way to figure out fault is to try other video game emulators. Or even try connecting a second monitor (if one is available). If the white bar is present elsewhere, then this is definitely a video card issue. Try what Microsoft recommends to fix this. Well, even if you don't see the white bar in other emulators, I'd try Microsoft's recommended troubleshooting anyway.
Are you using an older version of PCSX2? Or did you download PCSX2 from its official homepage? (Note that the official homepage hasn't been updated in years.) The issue could be as simple as you just need to download the latest version. You can find it on this 'automated builds' page.

The Steam Deck is an insane device. Not just because of its ability to play tons of PC games, but it is also a desktop computer! Thanks to that, it opens up the possibilities of putting in other launchers, browsers, programs, and emulators. Emulators allow you to play games that have come out years and years ago on older consoles (NES, SNES, GBA, PS1, PS2, etc.). This is incredibly important today for preservation of some of the classics that will never be re-released or remade in their fantastic state. So with that, here is one of the easiest ways to set emulation up on your Deck.
While you could download all the emulators and Retroarch by hand, there is a simpler and much easier way! EmuDeck is a script that will automatically download every emulator and configure them specifically for the Steam Deck hardware and gamepad. The best part is, it is super easy as well.
Head over to the EmuDeck website and scroll down until you see the "Download App" button and click it. Once that is finished downloading, move EmuDeck onto your Desktop. (Yes, there is a guide to installing it right above which you can follow as well).
Then, it will ask where you want everything to be installed. This is completely up to you, whether you want it on the Deck's internal storage or the SD card. I put mine on the SD card personally, but it is up to you. After that is clicked, it will install the emulators, as well as EmulationStation-DE and Steam Rom Manager.
After it is done, it will bring up a window saying "Yuzu is not configured", just hit ok and ignore it. This message is talking about needing keys for the Yuzu/Switch emulator, which is not something we can provide or point in the direction to. Then, it will give you a little prompt showing where to put your games and bios, as well as giving a prompt to open Steam Rom Manager. We will circle back to it, so just hit "Exit" for now.

BIOS files are proprietary files that are needed to run games on certain emulators. These files belong to their respective owners and aren't included when downloading the emulator. SDHQ can't provide the location to these BIOS files and we encourage you to dump them from their respective consoles that you own. When you have your files, you will put them in their respective folder inside the BIOS folder and into their corresponding folder depending on the system.
A ROM file is a game that is put into files usable by either a hacked console or an emulator. Just like the BIOS, we can't provide any links or locations to these ROM files, but the process of adding them is relatively the same. Once found, you will put them in the "roms" folder and under their respective folders in there. For example, GBA = Game Boy Advance, GC = GameCube, PSX = PlayStation 1, and so on. The only exception to this is the Wii U games. In the "wiiu" folder, there will be another "roms" folder, which you will put them in there.
If this is your first time using this, you can just scrape all games and make sure that all the systems you want are selected underneath (there is a select all button). After that, go to content settings. This is really important as you will be able to select what content you want showing on each game. These can add up overtime and pollute your storage space, so be careful downloading all of these, especially videos.
Finally, ES-DE allows you to select different emulators that can be used with different systems! This is great since some games actually run a lot better when using their standalone counterpart. To change this, go to your Main Menu > Other Settings > Alternate Emulators. From there, you can change which systems default to which emulators. The ones I would make sure to change are:
Next, scroll down and tick each of the consoles you want. For this demo, I will be checking the PS1 and Wii boxes. There may be multiples of a couple of them, so make sure to choose the one that offers the correct emulator! After that, scroll back up to the top and click preview, then at the bottom, click "Generate App List".
Hey there! Great site and content. I'm having issues running Sega CD games. The picture and information (from the scraper tool) shows up when I scroll over the title, but when I go to play, the screen goes black and then back to the game list. I had no issues running them on the XSX with Retroarch but can't seem to get them on the Deck. I've tried bin/cue and cod files. Any ideas? Thanks!
A PlayStation 2 emulator that dates back to 2002 and has continuously been supported since its inception. There are alternatives now coming out of the woodwork, but it cannot be denied that PCSX2 is one of the gold standards for emulation out there. It not only supports things like netplay and uprezing, but it can read your classic PS2 discs for the true experience.
To download the BIOS of PCSX2, you'll have to look for them manually with an Internet search engine. The PCSX2 developers do not host Playstation 2 BIOS on their official website, so you'll have to find them on your own.
Scene Hacker Markus95 in particular has shared a PS4/PS5-compatible version of emulator PGEN (Sega Genesis/Megadrive emulator) that will run on all PS5 models up to firmware 6.50 included (and 7.00 very likely as well). And Most likely on PS4 as well, up to the latest firmware (pending confirmation).
